Every time I fly back to Sepang International Airport, provided the sky is clear, I never fail to admire the many beautiful green lakes of fresh water that are scattered all over the mined over areas around Kuala Lumpur. I am very sure that if proper research is done by our Universities and Research Institutions, this hitherto non productive water bodies can produce many food items such as fresh water fish, prowns and other equatic animals that can not only feed our people but also exported to bring in much needed foreign exchange.
Since state governments are in control of these natural resources, I would urge that the new leadership in those Barisan Rakyat controlled states show their prowess at increasing national productivity by thinking hard at making this resources, besides others, more productive. After all, the Barisan Nasional led state governments had not done much over the last 50 years to turn this valuable assets into "gold". If they can do it, it will indeed be an eye opener.

Idle Government Assets
Further to my post on the old Customs quarters near Kelana Jaya Town Centre in 2007, I am happy to note recently that some work is going on to refurbish the buildings. In fact I aslo noted that some units have been occupied.
Now I now wish to draw the attention of the Police Department to a block of staff quarters which has long been abandoned but nothing seems to be happening to the site. This property I am referring to can be seen clearly from the highway if you are travelling from KL city centre towards NKVE after passing the toll house at Damansara. If you observe to your left, you will not miss the block with the police blue colour still not fully faded away after so many years of abandonment.
Since property is not cheap in that part of the city, can the PDRM do something about it. If it is surplus to their use, some other government agency can make full use of it.
