Old Customs Department Quaters near Kelana Jaya town centre

Every time I have to go to the Kelana Jaya town centre to buy some medicine from the chemist or run errand for my wife, I cannot help feeling a sense of guilt for not making an observation so that some one in authority, can look into the possibility of putting to some temporary use the rows of walk up flats which have been vacated some time ago by the occupiers. I believe that with the completion of the spanking new HQ and staff quarters by the Department not too far away from the same town centre, these flats have become redundant.

On the other hand I am quite sure that some other government employees like primary school teachers or policemen are spending their already meager income on paying rents to accomodate thier families in this expensive city. What is wrong with letting them stay in these flats at minimum rental while alternative us is being planned by the Customs Department? I am sure if we look around us we can find many more examples of such goverment assets which are allowed to rot for years with no one really caring to do something about it because it is not just their responsibility. Is it not time for the Government to put into effect a system where all assets are registered and annual reviews are made to see that no they are put to good use.
